So far, I’ve had three naps today. Every time, I wake up thinking I’ve overslept, but find that I’m actually just on time. Today I once woke up after 10 minutes, and felt fine. According to eye witnesses, I snored a lot. I think that’s a good sign.
Last night passed incredibly fast for me, as I had Rosine to chat with. That helped a tremendous lot! I’m sure tonight will be harder, though. In my experience, the second and third nights are the worst. I think that since we’re doing it together, we have a more than just realistic chance of adjusting without accidents.
Today I’ve been quite awake, except for the last couple of hours, including when I woke up from my last nap. I think I did the right thing considering not having fixed nap times. It feels great to be able to go to sleep when I’m tired, as opposed to having to wait several hours. Now the maximum I have to wait is an hour and a half, if I don’t wake up early. I’m now growing more awake.
I haven’t slept in one specific place, but I’m aiming at making this one chair in the living room my sleep spot, as sleeping in a seated position doesn’t seem to trigger the “shut down” function of the body, so it’s easier to wake up. I won’t risk falling asleep on the couch, though. I’d surely roll over in a lying position and wake up hours later.
If everything goes according to my plan, my naps will automatically decrease in numbers, I think. Maybe I’ll reach the Powiull sleep pattern without staying ut for 66 hours? Or will there be a point where I don’t feel like going to sleep for a long time? I think that as long as I only go to sleep when I’m really tired, not just at any sign of tiredness, my sleep time should be reduced drastically.
During the night, I found chili to be the best for staying awake. It’s impossible to sleep with a little chili burning in your mouth. This results in drinking a lot of water, which leads to going to the toilet at least twice every hour, which prevents me from suddenly falling asleep.
Right now, I think the two hardest nights are going to be numbers two and three. If we get past these, I think we will be able to continue pretty easily. Now I need to buy some more chili. :)
